“Heavenly Father, I invite you now to come into my life afresh. I give back all the areas of my life that I have dedicated to sin since receiving Jesus as my Lord. I ask you to take them and purify them, renewing them for your purposes. Lord please remove any pride or lust that may be rooted in my heart. Please wash my heart with your living, purifying water. Father, I pray that you will fill me anew with your Holy Spirit and set me apart to do your work in the world. Hearken my ears to your Spirit’s voice and draw my eyes to your Word in the scripture each day. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”

“Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, I have sinned in so many ways. I ask for your forgiveness, cleansing, guidance, strength, protection and healing for every step along this journey. Father, please create in me a clean heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. I commit myself to serving you from this point on in my life, and ask that you will accomplish Your will in my life and not my own. You are my King and I am Your servant. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. Teach me Your ways, that I may walk in them for the rest of my life. Thank You, Father. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”

This prayer is based on Colossians 1:9-14. It is best prayed in conjunction a with morning quiet time:

“Father God, I surrender myself to your will today. I ask forgiveness for any sin I have committed and plead the Blood of Jesus Christ over my sin. Father, I ask that you will fill me with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding today. Please quicken my mind to Your Word today as I read it, and reveal the truth that will set me free. I pray that You will empower me to bear fruit in every good work I do, grow in the knowledge of You and be strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might. Father, I pray for great endurance and patience in walking with You. I joyfully give thanks to You for qualifying me through Jesus to share in the inheritance of Your kingdom. I could never have earned it, and you gave it to me as a gift through Jesus. Thank You so very much! In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.”

Here is a prayer for reckoning your life with Jesus Christ (Romans 6:11-12):

“Lord Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and were resurrected so I may be alive to You and live in obedience. Lord I reckon my old sinful life dead now and buried with you in baptism. I reckon myself alive to You in resurrection by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord, please help me know and feel this as reality in my heart with all understanding. Please lead me and train me in making choices to follow You from this point forward. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
