This study will help you understand and use the whole armor of God. It is intended for those who have placed faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and desire to live for him. If you don’t know Jesus, please first visit our Peace with God page.
The Apostle Paul discussed the need for the armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV:
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
If we want to live for God, spiritual forces of evil will oppose us in “spiritual warfare.” God gives us the whole armor of God for protection and survival. It enables us to reach our maximum endurance on the “spiritual battlefield” without becoming a casualty. We’ll need to both wear the armor of God and know how to use it if we hope to be victorious.
